Eindhoven Diving Cup organizes banner contest
EINDHOVEN – January 4, 2024 – Before the Christmas holidays, an invitation has been sent to all primary schools, sports and dance clubs in Eindhoven and the surrounding area to participate in the Eindhoven Diving Cup banner competition. This will be held during the Eindhoven Diving Cup (EDC), which will take place from 1 to 4 February 2024 in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven.
The Eindhoven Diving Cup (EDC) banner competition is organized for children aged 8 to 12 from every primary school, dance and sports club in Eindhoven and the surrounding area. The intention is to bring the sport of diving to the attention of children. In addition to the invitation to participate in the competition, (lesson) information has been sent about diving that can be discussed during a lesson or training.
Participate in the EDC banner competition
Children can participate individually, as a class or as a team and make a banner of a size of their choice. And the bigger the better of course!
Because the Olympic Games will be held again in 2024 and there will be diver participants who will also jump during the upcoming Eindhoven Diving Cup, the theme for the banner competition is: “Olympic Games 2024 – on to Paris”.
The banner may contain a self-devised slogan that fits within this theme. With regard to further decoration, the participants are expected to show their most creative side.
Price
The team, class or participant with the best banner wins a diving workshop! This way the winners or the winner can really get acquainted with this beautiful sport.
This workshop is entirely provided in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium and supervised by official trainers from PSV Schoonspringen.
Handing in banners
Banners can be handed in on Tuesday, January 30 between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM at the box office of the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium, Antoon Coolenlaan 1 in Eindhoven. It must be clearly indicated from which school/class/participant or which team the submitted banner belongs.
Our esteemed international jury will then judge each banner for creativity, originality and how it fits within the theme.
Award ceremony banner competition
On the 1st EDC tournament day – Thursday, February 1 from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM – all participants in the banner competition, together with their parent(s), teacher or trainer, are very welcome at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven.
During the opening ceremony, the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Eindhoven will award the prize for the most beautiful banner.
Participants in the banner competition can indicate in advance via info@eindhovendivingcup.nl how many people they will bring to the Swimming Stadium on February 1 for the ceremony.
