I am Frits Adelmeyer

Frits as a diver:

In 1972, I started diving when I was eight years old with the team “De Treffers” in Rosmalen. With the age of twelve, I became part of the Dutch National Team. My first international competition with the Dutch National Team took place in the swimming pool “Den Hommel” in Utrecht where I competed on the platform. Afterwards, I continued to develop my diving skills and techniques which made it possible for me to participate in various National Championships, Grand Prixs and the Fina World Cup. In addition, due to the fact that I work in the army, I had the possibility to compete at the Military World Championships where I got my best results: first on the ten meter platform and third on the three meter board.

 Frits as a coach

In 1985, I founded and established the diving department in Eindhoven, known as PSV Schoonspringen. Currently, I still actively work there as the head-coach. I also guide and train the Dutch Youth National Team and senior divers. Besides coaching, I judge at several Nationals and European Championship, Europe Cups and Grand Prix’s as Fina judge.

 Frits as director

During 2008 and 2012, I volunteered as Technical Director during the European Championships in Eindhoven. Likewise, at the Eindhoven Diving Cup, I have also worked as the Technical Director for all editions. The underlying reason and purpose of this international competition is to give the opportunity for PSV divers to gain international experience and interact with other divers from abroad. The first edition of this competition started with four nationalities, which ultimately grew leading to seventeen nationalities participating. It is has become the largest diving event in Europe for which I am very proud of.
