I am Gytha Steenvoorden
I have always found diving to be a great sport to watch and I admire the dedication and passion divers have for their sport and the way they strive for perfection.
As a native of Eindhoven, I am proud that sport is such an important part of our city and our regional and national culture.
When I read in February 2020 that the Eindhoven Diving Cup was looking for a volunteer PR and communications manager, I decided to offer my (international) marketing and communications experience. I was curious if my creativity could contribute to the promotion of this wonderful event and increase the impact of this world-famous tournament.
The Eindhoven Diving Cup is not just any competition; it is the first international qualifying event of the year. It is also a testament to the athletes, coaches and volunteers who come from all over the world to compete in an atmosphere of inspiration and pushing boundaries.
I am proud of how our team of volunteers raise awareness of this wonderful sport and that we get to tell the athletes’ stories of perseverance and overcoming challenges. The energy that emanates from this special event is really something else!
From press releases to social media campaigns to radio and TV interviews, our team tries to tell the stories of achievement. The role of a PR and communications manager is not only about words and images, but also about trying to show the world that the Eindhoven Diving Cup truly is the tournament ‘where future stars compete’.
